Print of an 1840/'41 watercolor white gouache and graphite with pen and black ink on moderately thick, slightly textured, beige wove paper by John Frederick Lewis. Frederick specialized in Mediterranean scenes in detailed watercolor or oils, very often repeating the same composition in a version in each medium. He lived for several years in a traditional mansion in Cairo, and after his return to England in 1851 he specialized in highly detailed works showing both realistic genre scenes of Arab life and more idealized scenes in upper-class Egyptian interiors with little apparent Western influence.

We are unable to accept returns or exchanges on wall art since each piece is made to order. If damage occurs during shipping, please contact us and we will provide a replacement.
